Hi! I am Avantika Garg. I am studying in the 11th grade in Dhirubhai Ambani International School, Mumbai.
I am curious about everything and passionate about science and technology. I want to understand the impact of science and technology in shaping humanity’s future and I would like to be a positive part of that change.
I have been working since the ninth grade with children in various centres for underprivileged sections of the society on science, scientific thinking, and awareness about gender inequality.
I have recently formalized this experience by building complete session plans with materials and videos to enable other privileged students who are interested in these activities to share their knowledge with underprivileged children in their area. We will provide all the resources, training and coordination with a suitable centre.
I firmly believe that the future of humanity is dependent on successful migration away from fossil fuels to renewable energy and recycling resources effectively. I am currently working on projects to conserve and recycle water in Mumbai apartment buildings.
Apart from my passion for science, I love playing the piano and sketching. On weekends I play the piano for young cancer patients at the Tata Memorial Hospital. I will upload a few videos of these sessions, and some my drawings and sketches as soon as I get around to scanning them!
I am holding a piano concert for raising funds for Ekam Foundation. Ekam Foundation provides medical treatment and surgeries for underprivileged children. The concert is planned for Friday March 29, at 7:00 PM. Details on the venue and how you can contribute will be updated here soon.
